Like I understand headcanoning Miles as gay or trans or whatever, that’s not the problem. The problem is that white gay fans are almost trying not to relate to Miles and therefore feel like they have to give the movie a theme that it doesn’t have.

This isn’t a problem about headcanons, this is just another example of white fans trying so hard to take away a character’s blackness. You guys can relate to space aliens but not a young Afro Latino boy?

and the over all issue is that they focus on him being trans or gay more than they do black. they only interesting thing to them about Miles is that he is trans and or gay. His afro latino heritage is erased. It’s like to them, the only important thing about him is if they can hc him as trans or gay, other than that he isn’t as important or interesting of a character and that says a lot. 

there isn’t anything wrong with seeing him as trans or gay as you’ve said . but when you’re doing that because you find his blackness “bland” or boring then that’s the issue.

i hate how they market alexa as a ‘member of the family’ like that’s SO fucking blatantly insidious and terrifying also if i wanted an untrustworthy/cold/emotionless machine in my life i’d just talk to my fuckin father
